They used to have great workers, and a great looking store. They seem to treat their long term workers poorly, and the store has become a claustrophobic mess. It is very depressing initially walking into the store. Seeing the huge T.V. that already assumes you are a criminal. Then the aisles. The tall shelves, the shrunken space. You can tell they have moved everything closer together. You feel like you are in a Maze. A mismatched maze, wondering why Diapers, and other non food items are on the same aisle as the chips. You wonder if the shelves are quietly getting closer, and closer, and closer to you as you walk down the aisle, eyeing the dead end wall at the end of it, instead of open space. Are you going to get crushed by these overpriced goods and shelves as they continue to close in on you as you try to squeeze by someone that, god forbid, decides to shop the same aisle as you. You wonder where all the happy faces are. Everyone looks so glum and depressed. Is it the prices? Yeah that factors in, but I imagine it is the new store layout. Absolutely atrocious. Depressing. Claustrophobic. Anxiety inducing. The whole place is a cesspool of sadness.

I used to really like this store. However since the new layout, I've had to stop going here. Nothing makes sense. It takes far too long to find a single item. So I'm going to start shopping at Hy-Vee instead. Thank you for the past 10 years Dillon's but you are broken and need to get over yourself.

This is my go-to Dillon’s, just a few blocks from home, and it really has that neighborhood feel. It’s smaller than the 21st & Fairlawn location, but it still has everything you need, including good produce and a solid selection of vegan options. What I like most is the balance. If you want a quick in-and-out trip, the self-checkout moves fast and you can be on your way. But if you’re someone who appreciates a familiar face, the staff is kind, welcoming, and often ready with a smile. They’re currently rearranging the store (as of 3/31/26), so the app can help you find things more easily while that’s going on. If you need a wider selection, 21st & Fairlawn is the bigger store. But for a convenient, comfortable neighborhood spot, this one really does the job.

Luz is the most amazing employee that Dillons has ever hired!! She not only quickly looked for my phone, but she brilliantly went to the phone kiosk and found the individual that was trying to sell it right then and there. This woman needs a raise. Couldn’t have ever had a better experience. Thank you so much, ma’am

Nice supermarket across from the zoo in Topeka. They really have everything you need. Meats,fresh fruit, and vegetables. They have those Friday sales. They 4th of July sales are on now. The staff seems to always be friendly
